"Short Project Description: The State and Local Government Organization of
HP is seeking a JAVA Developer for the MA ALARS project. Position Details
HP ES State and Local Government is seeking a JAVA Developer in the Quincy,
MA location.  The Java developer is responsible for configuring and
developing solutions for our MA ALARS client.  The developer duties
encompass the full development lifecycle, as defined by the project, in the
planning, creation, testing, implementation, and support of JAVA solutions
and others duties as assigned.  Expectations:• Drives the design and
implementation of Java/JEE based web applications• Translates business
requirements into technical specifications and designs• Designs, implements
and integrates applications components, server-side components and database
access• Reviews changes in code/configuration to determine impacts on
overall system• Assists with the configuration of the software components
(e.g. web server, app server, etc). • Assists with test case development
and execution• Prepares technical product documentation used internally and
externally• Must be able to drive problem-solving strategies for complex
issues that involve cross-functional disciplines• Applies specialized
knowledge to conceptualize, design, develop unit-test, configure, and
implement portions of new or enhanced business and technical Java solutions
through application of appropriate standard software development life cycle
methodologies and processes.• Be versatile and willing to work
cross-functionally. • Understand the product requirements and provide
effort estimates.• Provide technical advice to the product owner so that he
or she can understand the complexity of the requirements and make
appropriate decisions.• Respond to circumstances and adjust processes,
standards, and tools to optimize performance.• Interacts with the Client
and project as required, to gain an understanding of business environment,
technical context, and organizational strategic direction. • Defines scope,
plans, and deliverables for assigned components. • Willingness and ability
to learn quickly• Conforms to security and quality standards. • Exercises
independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to
identify and select a solution• Designs units for others and completes
development to implement complex components.• Develops independently;
participates in code reviews and may lead code reviews. • May lead and
provide mentoring and guidance to less senior developers.• Designs,
prepares and executes unit tests.  Skills Required (provide specific
details around tools, client environment, certifications needed, etc):
MUST HAVESkills Required (provide specific details around tools, client
environment, certifications needed, etc):• 3-5 years experience developing
Web-based applications utilizing Java technologies • Experience with the
following technologies is required: JEE, JSP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Web
Services, JPA, SQL, Oracle WebLogic, Hibernate• Experience utilizing
Rational Build Forge, Eclipse, Apache Ant, and Rational Team Concert to
build projects is desired• Experience with the following software: Oracle
SOA Suite, Oracle Business Process Manager, Apache Web Server, Oracle
Database is strongly preferred• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting
skills • Experience facilitating Joint Application Design sessions•
Experience developing screen mocks up for clients to review• Ability to
work independently and manage multiple task assignments• Strong oral and
written communication skills• Ability to correlate ideas from a variety of
