Title: Business Analyst with Fixed Income experience Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 6-12 month contract ****** FACE TO FACE INTERVIEW AFTER AN INITIAL PHONE SCREEN******* ******MUST HAVE GOOD FIXED INCOME EXPERIENCE******* * Education* A four year Bachelor's Degree or the international equivalent in Business, Finance or preferred or commensurate relevant work experience. Please note the experience which is important: 1) Fixed Income experience. The person needs to have a very good understanding of fixed income instruments, including a good understanding of their uses, attributes and analytics. Similar experience with fixed income derivatives would be preferable. To put this into context, the candidate should be comfortable in being able to talk about fixed income instruments, and the associated management and trading of them with fixed income portfolio managers. The candidate needs to be credible in front of portfolio managers. Some candidates have fixed income experience within a back office environment, and that is very different to the front office experience we are looking for.2) Business analysis experience. This is hopefully self-explanatory but we have had some submissions from former portfolio managers who have excellent fixed income experience but have never worked as a business analyst before. I would like the candidate to stay with us for the duration of the program, and so would prefer someone who has a proven track record as a business analyst and therefore will not have any surprises with the work. As a BA, they will need to spend a lot of time liaising with the portfolio managers, and writing down requirements and drawing Visio diagrams, and liaising with IT, and being part of the IT process. 3) Asset management experience. We could perhaps soften on this requirement but the ideal candidate would understand the asset management business and front office workflows. We have had some candidates with front office investment banking experience, and that could be of interest.
