*POSITION 1)* *CORE ORACLE DBA:* *Location: **Hopkins, MN* *Duration: 6+ Months* *F2F REQUIRED - LOCALS ONLY* This is a core Oracle DBA role... performing Back-ups, restores, performance tuning *POSITION 2)* *LINUX ENGINEER * *Location: Reston, VA* *Duration: through end of 2014* *Interview: must be able to attend in-person interview (prefer local candidates, or those who can drive to interview)* Skills: linux administration, scripting (perl, php, ruby or python), ip networking, application servers (tomcat, jboss or similar), sql queries Must have some sort of scripting experience. Required Skills/Experience: · At least 7 years of Linux systems administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting experience in a large-scale (100+ servers), customer-facing, high availability environment. · At least 3 years in-depth experience with IP networking (TCP/IP packet analysis, DNS, DHCP, NAT, SNMP etc.) · At least 4 years Administration, maintenance, support, tuning and scaling of Application Servers (Tomcat, Weblogic JBoss, etc.) · At least 2 years supporting large scale database application, clear understanding of databases and ability to write simple SQL queries. Oracle Rac is a plus. · At least 3 years supporting large application software clusters (Riak, RabbitMQ, Redis, etc.) and with a clear understanding of their issues and bottlenecks. · Tools development in Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, or similar languages. · Creation of shell scripts to automate tasks and perform basic data analysis · Experienced in managing a highly available customer facing applications be able to define and design applications based on LB and GSLB · Experience managing servers remotely in a distributed environment. · Design and implementation of monitoring and notification approaches which maximize system stability, function and performance. · Demonstrated ability to stay organized while multi-tasking between several projects, and to adapt to change. · Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills. · Team player with professional work ethic and positive attitude. · Demonstrated ability to produce results with a minimum of day-to-day direction. · Demonstrated interest in continuing to grow professionally and learn new things. *Desired Skills/Experience:* · Load Balancer configuration, function, setup and support.. · Clear understand of client server frameworks such as Netty · Experience operating and troubleshooting web application servers, clear understanding of http protocol. Protocol Buffer & XML experience is a plus. · Experience with using, administering Hadoop, Splunk and analyzing data with Hive · Experience with managing and querying Riak and writing MapReduce jobs.
