*Performance Engineer/Tester:Rate: $40/hr on C2C* *Location: Chicago IL* *Duration : 6-12 months* Review business needs and request specifications in order to develop scripts for performance monitoring. •Consult with internal customers and stakeholders in regards to application performance. •Understand application and system infrastructure to build performance testing scenarios. •Understand user behavior in order to correctly model a performance testing scenario. •Execute performance test scenarios. •Analyze results from performance test scenarios. •Distribute performance analysis reports to internal customers and stakeholders. •Identify performance inhibitors and make recommendations for resolution. •Adhere to, enforce and enhance the overall Performance Engineering best practices, strategy and methodology. •Demonstrate ownership of all assigned tasks and projects, delivering status updates to management and stakeholders regularly. Includes escalating issues and risks as appropriate. Qualification and Experience Requirements: •Good working knowledge of performance testing and monitoring tools. Experience with HP Loadrunner preferred. •Good working knowledge of web application performance and infrastructure •Excellent verbal and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences, including experience communicating within all levels of an organization. •2+ years of performance testing experience. •2+ years of software development or quality assurance experience. •Intermediate knowledge of web application technologies. •Intermediate understanding of IT systems infrastructure. •Strong Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills. •Practical e-commerce experience. •Scripting skills in at least one common language (Perl, Ruby, Python, VBScript, Shell, etc.). •Bachelor's Degree in MIS/CS/Engineering, or equivalent experience.
