*InfoVision* is looking for a *Linux / System Administration *for a Long term contract position *Location : Plano TX* *Duration: 12+ months* *Job Description* · User administration (setup and maintaining account) · Maintaining system · Verify that peripherals are working properly · Quickly arrange repair for hardware in occasion of hardware failure · Monitor system performance · Basic understanding of filesystems, such as LVM etc. · Create/change/resize partitions and file systems · Basic understanding of SAN and interactions to it from a server perspective, i.e. how to connect to it · Install OS and software, familiar with packet management tools · Create backup and recover policy, install and operate backup software · Configure and set up networking, routing, IPtables, bonding, redundant networking, SCTP etc. · Monitor network communication · Update system as new versions of OS and application software comes out · Implement policies for use of the computer system and network · Setup security policies for users. A sysadmin must have a strong grasp of computer security (e.g. firewalls and intrusion detection systems) · Designing best practices for backups, and whole infrastructure. Documentation in form of official documents in revision controlled official documentation tool · Skills in automation software such as puppet, chef, etc. · skills in rollout of infrastructure using kickstart, jumpstart etc. · Basic understanding of DNS servers, and ability to install and run it. · Cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Openstack etc. · Basic understanding of network services in cloud such as Content delivery networks (Akamai, CloudFront etc) · Source control · Basic use of build tools, makefiles etc. · Should be good at several programming languages used for scripting or automation of routine tasks such as bash, shell, awk, perl, python etc. · Must understand the behavior of software in order to deploy it and to troubleshoot problems If you are interested, please send me your updated resume with your contact number.
