*Position: PHP Developer || WEB Developer* Location: Washington DC, USA Start Date: 9 February Duration : 9+ months Skills required :: PHP, Drupal, HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript *General Requirements: * Duties and Accountabilities: The Operational Products unit of the Information Technology and Solutions (ITS) vice presidency is seeking a Drupal Developer to help with the ongoing growth and maintenance of cgap.org and other Drupal sites run by CGAP. The Web developer will also help with the design, development, testing and implementation of code and applications for the Gateway sites including the front and back end. The IT team that services the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) and other clients within the ITSOP unit manages a set of high profile Drupal web sites. CGAP develops innovative solutions to address barriers to financial inclusion through practical research and active engagement with financial service providers, policy makers, and funders. Over the past few years, the communications function at CGAP has been integrated throughout the organization. Building on a reputation for high-quality publications, today we use the full range of communication tools encompassing new media (blogs, multimedia, social networking) to maximize the impact of our work with financial institutions, other market actors, policy makers and funders. Several CGAP Web assets are being developed and migrated to Drupal 7 CMS. For example, Microfinancegateway.org (4 multilingual sites), CGAP.org, GPFI.org, Workspace.cgap.org <http://workspace.cgap.org/>, and on Q4, 2014 graduation.cgap.org. In addition, there is a third-party Web application photocontest.cgap.org. These migrations require considerable work to improve the functionality and usability of these nine (9) sites. The position requires a highly motivated and versatile candidate with strong development skills to support the development activities. Duties and Accountabilities · Provide technical support and troubleshoot for technical issues/bugs encountered in CGAP’s Drupal sites. (CGAP.org, GPFI.org, MicrofinanceGateway.org, workspace.cgap.org) · Develop, maintain, customize/modify, and configure the Drupal modules · Provide front end development for interactive features · Ensure CGAP sites comply with the World Bank OIS, WPO and other standards · Modify the sites themes and maintain it · Create and maintain Drupal views and content types · Work with the Communications team and assist in defining requirements for new initiatives such as usability audit recommendations · Stay up to date with Drupal core and module improvements, and security patches and updates to comply with OIS accreditations. · Validate Drupal upgrades in Virtual Host, DEV, and QA environments and provide recommendations for upgrades · Assist the team in developing and deploying other sites in a multi-site configuration. · Prioritize tasks and interact well within a team environment · Solve problems quickly and follow protocols and resolution procedures · Documenting current and future configuration processes and policies · Assist in debugging issues with hosting applications, cloud resources and Content Delivery Network (CDN). · Participate in 24x7 on-call support –if needed · Identify opportunities for process improvement, planning, and implementing changes.
