Please send the resumes at [email protected] Job Title: PeopleSoft DBA w/higher education Location: Akron, OH Duration: 3 Months UA is seeking consulting Senior Database Administration for support of the PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 upgrade along with production support activities that are normally associated with an ERP application. In addition to preparing the environments to be upgraded, troubleshooting installation issues as they arise, and creating restore points during the upgrade activities, the candidate will be expected to be provide support of the existing Oracle databases. Specifically, this candidate should have: Senior database administration experience of no less than 8 years. Upgrade experience Oracle version 12 from Oracle version 11. Experience with cloning and restoring databases. Creating restore points, performance tuning, DASD moves, and applying PSU patches as distributed from Oracle. Managing memory and disk space to ensure the database is running correctly. Setting database parameters to ensure correct configuration is achieved. Using RMAN, and other tools related to backup and validation. Availability to respond to after-hours support calls and go-live coverage on weekends and holidays as needed. CONSULTANT REQUIREMENTS The following qualifications are necessary for Provider to submit a resume(s) for consideration. It is the responsibility of the provider to make clarifications where there is some question about the stated requirement. Consultant must have a good working knowledge of higher education institutions and have worked for a medium to large research institution in the past three years. Resumes being submitted must be for consultants with an extensive technical background and education. Must have a thorough understanding of Oracle Database Administration and a minimum of 8 years of experience. Must have participated in the upgrade to Oracle 12.1. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS & CONSIDERATIONS The following are technical requirements expected for each resume submitted. Knowledge and hands-on experience in performing Oracle upgrades. Experience working with RAC, OEM, and RMAN. Must have an understanding of SQL tuning and tools around tuning activities. Must be able to provide knowledge transfer to other members of the technical support team. Ability to work with technical support teams. Strong communication skills. Strong problem solving skills.
