This is an old trend, but here is a simple work-around for sorting starred items in front of others - just add a "+" or a "*" or a "!" in front of the item title. This will put the item on top of the list alphabetically. You can even use different symbols to differentiate priority. This approach is, in fact, mentioned by David Allen himself.
