Hi all,
CheckboxPlugin from tiddlytools <http://www.tiddlytools.com/> is one of
the must have plugins, but unfortunately it seems to have some issues with
mGSD. In spite of the
warning<http://monkeygtd.blogspot.com/2010/12/checkboxplugin-considered-dangerous.html>that
it 'damages your mGSD' I have been able use it for a while now..
Thought should share with you..
But I must remind all that it 'potentially' can damage the data in mGSD
if proper precaution is not taken. So please backup your wikis if you plan
to install it. Do proceed only when you are sure of what you are doing and
that you have a copy of the file safe somewhere.. This can still be
considered experimental.
After damaging a few of my mGSDs what I have found is that data is
corrupted only when the 'CheckboxPlugin-specific constructs' are used in
'mGSD-specific tiddlers'!

What I mean by:
mGSD-specific tiddlers: By this, I mean the type of tiddlers specific to
mGSD, like actions, projects, references, various lists of actions, anything
that is not in tiddly wiki but in mGSD.( and where mGSD has its own
checkboxes!)
CheckboxPlugin-specific constructs: These refer to [ ], [_], [x] and [X]
like constructs used to denote checkbox and the states in CheckboxPlugin.
Check CheckboxPluginInfo
<http://www.tiddlytools.com/#CheckboxPluginInfo>for details.

Steps to use:
 1. Backup your wiki. ( a reminder.. :) )
 2. Install CheckboxPlugin and verify everything is working fine.
 3. If anything is broken, take the back-up file, remove any
'CheckboxPlugin-specific constructs' from the 'mGSD-specific tiddlers', the
tiddlers that broke. I assume this is a rare case, the constructs are not so
very common to be used otherwise.
 4. When you want to add a checkbox, 'do not add it in the action directly'.
Create a simple Plain-Old-Tiddler, by going to : 'More... --> TW --> New
Tiddler' and add a link to it in the action, something like: [[MyTracker]]

i.e. One Rule: Keep the 'CheckboxPlugin-specific constructs' out of
'mGSD-specific tiddlers' and you should be just fine!
Would like to hear the results of the experiment! :)

Regards,
Nikhil
