Hi all, Bellow you can see the "Understand Sync Services" page in the "almost ready" GTG user documentation in Mallard. What I need is the check-up and fill-in of the missing information on the page.
First of all explain the difference between the read-only, import and full sync; and as a second issue state the type of sync for each service in GTG. Last but not least, check the wording of the rest of the text in case there is something inaccurate or improvable. Luca, since you are the sync-wizard around here and most of these backends are your babies, please check this out. Thanks! Cheers, Radina --------------------------------------- Understand Sync Services Sync Services allow GTG to synchronize (meaning to have access or to import) tasks, notes or bugs from other sites or services like Launchpad or Remember the Milk. There are different types of synchronization: - Read-only synchronization: records the changes in task state from the originating service in GTG but not the reverse. This means that if you open one of the imported tasks and change the title, description or tags your changes will be lost when the associated task is modified on the originating service. You are free to set any other field (start/due dates, subtasks...) as for those field your changes will be preserved. This is useful to add personal annotations to imported tasks. - Import synchronization - Full synchronization To enable or disable GTG Sync Services in the main menu go to Edit ▸ Setup Sync Services. List of available sync services in GTG: Evolution tasks Allows you to synchronize your GTG tasks with Evolution tasks. (read, import or full?) Identi.ca Imports your Identi.ca messages into your GTG. (import?) Tomboy Synchronize all or part of your Tomboy notes in GTG. (read, import or full?) Launchpad Allows you to import the Launchpad bugs assigned to you (or someone else) in GTG. This is a Read-only synchronization. Gnote This service can synchronize all or part of your Gnote notes in GTG. (read, import or full?) Remember the Milk Synchronize your tasks with the web service RememberTheMilk. (read, import or full?) Local file Allows you to store some tasks to a specific file on your hard disk (other than the default file). (read, import or full?) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
