I haven't had a chance to test it with 2.31.1, but the patch breaks the plugin for older Hamster versions. I'm using 2.29.93. There are non- trivial changes to the Hamster API in 2.31.
Also, Hamster 2.31 has a new python library that may be a better option than using DBUS directly, especially since the API compatibility is broken anyway.
