I believe I've fixed that in rev. 796. Could you please crosscheck ?
Thanks for reporting those bugs, it's really helpful.

Status in Getting Things GNOME!: Fix Committed
Bug description:
When no filters are applied:
I've got a task which is displayed as having no parents and as having a parent
at the same time:
Task X
Task Y
+ Task X
When I dragged the first instance of Task X to Task Y, gtg was busy for ~30
secs (eating CPU), but nothing happened visually. When editing one instance of
such task and closing the edit window, the other got the changes too.
I've also got some tasks that are displayed twice right next to each other.
This happens regardless of whether such task has a parent or not; it is much
more often for parent-less tasks though.
I checked in the XML database -- none of these tasks are duplicated there.
Rev 793.
