Here is the output (a lot of it!) from my terminal when I ran gtg -d.

Bug description:
(gtg version 0.2.4 from unstable ubuntu ppa)

Whenever I sync with Evolution (using the plugin) I get duplicates in GTG of
all of the tasks that were previously in Evolution. Unless I manually delete
them all, this snowballs so that after a few days I have many copies of the
same tasks. This only seems to happen with tasks that have passed their start
date or that have no start date assigned.
