In my panel applet, I have an option to toggle PANEL_APPLET_HAS_HANDLE flag on the fly (in preferences window). Unfortunately, if handle is visible and user wants co hide it, it does not hide. It is still visible, but does not work (ie. I can't move panel with it). The only way I found is to toggle PANEL_APPLET_EXPAND_MAJOR flag at the same time.
