Hello GTK developers,

I recently came across this impressive project and was very happy to see
that there are Java bindings under the project name java-gnome. However, I
was dismayed to discover that these bindings do not work under Windows and
that there were no active efforts (that I could find) to make them work.

Having done the majority of my Java development using Windows and having a
fairly decent knowledge of Java I decided to take a stab at creating
bindings for the Windows platform. The result is a project that I am
calling JavaGtk located here: https://github.com/JavaGtk/JavaGtk

This is still very much a work-in-progress and subject to massive
architectural changes. I would be very interested in any feedback from
this community and anyone that wants to contribute is greatly welcome.

P.S. I realize that the java-gnome project is the officially support java
release for GTK and it is not my intention to supplant or replace it. I
only desire a working windows binding for GTK.

Regards,

Bill Hull
