The license for the RBTree implementation is a standard BSD 3-clauses
license, with an additional restriction for the US government.

Since GTK is not owned by the US government, it's not a problem - even
though, in any case, the restrictions still allow the US government to use
and redistribute the code, in compliance with the license.

In any case, the exception for the US government is moot now that the
implementation is part of GTK: the original license is compatible with the
LGPL used by GTK so the whole file, and its modifications, is
relicensed under the LGPL, version 2.1 or later, i.e. the license used by
GTK.

If you want a proper legal opinion, you should ask a lawyer, though, and
not take my word for it. GTK has already been audited by various companies
and their legal departments, just in case you are wondering.
