As long as the cvs hasn't been updated since you checked out your copy, you could cvs -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/gtk-gnutella diff gtk-gnutella-current from inside your local copy's parent directory. If you have compiled your copy and/or have temp files in that directory they can be removed by running 'make clean' and 'make distclean'. (gmake on bsd, etc.)
Patches can then be submitted either in-line or as attachments on this list.

PS. If you have the disk space, I find it easier to keep a clean cvs copy and just diff against that, which is a bit quicker. This also allows you to run a checkout on that directory to verify that the cvs hasn't changed.
