The remote shell is basically a remote control feature. Ultimately it is
supposed to be part of the core/UI separation in gtkg and support for
multiple UI frontends.

It allows you to connect to gtkg using a telnet client and have it
perform some actions and print some values. Right now it provides basic
features only, but in the near future it may evolve to something more
complete, since efforts are made towards implementing protocol
solutions.

Richard is working on it, and I am buried in source code trying to make
up a suitable protocol for UI update packets. Jeroen also sent me a
sample of his UI protocol draft (based on XML, as mine is).

Please read the source in shell.[ch] to understand how to use the remote
shell. Monitor posts about core/UI splitting and the underlying protocol
if you want to keep up with the progress.

Cheers,
