I am using gettext-0.11.4-3 under RH80.

Which one should I be using?

Also, do you think there should there be a configure time check for this?

Your gettext is probably fine; there is a configure time check, but it obviously isn't working so well.


To repeat the advice I've seen, try disabling NLS and nm during Configure.
