Hi, Folks.
During a session today, I happened to see some uploads to others showing up with a status of waiting, and a ETA time that went into the thousands of days! That must surely be an error of some kind, as it's not very likely that my system will exist for more than a thousand or two days. Since 5 years is less than 2000 days, and that is a reasonable lifetime for any small computer, I'm fairly sure that this was caused by either an uninitalized variable, or an incorrect calculation. It happened for three files at the same time, all of which had just completed uploading a segment of a large file, and were waiting for the request for the next segment.
I realize that this is not a critical error by any means, and it does not warrant the attention of the normal development staff right now, since we seem to be very limited for resources. But I'd be glad to fix this, if someone who is familiar with the code could point me in the right direction to track it down. I just don't know the software well enough yet to find this quickly, and don't have the time myself to spend hours looking for the file and functions that relate to the calculation.
But I think if someone could tell me the file where they think it's being calculated, I can do the fix, and submit a diff for you pretty quickly.
If someone would take a few minutes to look at the source, and give me the filename, and if possible, the function, I will take it from there.
Regards,
