You'll probably kick yourself, but using the -L compiler switch in the way you are doing won't solve your problem. What you wanted was the -I (capital eye) switch, which tells the compiler where to look for additional *.h files. From what I could gather from your post, that's the problem - you are not finding an include file that should be found.
You are completely right... (Both about the switch and me kicking myself; I should have
re-read the gcc man page...) Thanks for the tip.
I've only had a bit of time for testing, but it seems to run fine...
I (or whoever) can alter the ports entry for gtk-g to accomplish this for freebsd, or
one of the dev.s here could alter the Configure script to check it by default; I
would have no problem with this either way. (I'll submit a patch in this thread, if I
get time; should be pretty trivial.)
