Yeah, I know how that goes.  Of course it'd be nice if every little
patch that was written also made sure to correct a wonderful set of
documentation describing exactly how a program is put together, but
that's an unrealistic dream.  

However, one reason for creating this library and a (hopefully) somewhat
stable API is that this type of documentation can also be pretty
stable.  If we have to change the API it will be a bigger deal and a
"major" release so we can make sure we update the documentation then, if
need be.
