I'm trying to build gtk-gnutella on Debian Woody for PowerPC. Can 0.93 be built as a debian package on Woody? I'd like to try 0.93, because the gtk-gnutella version that comes with Woody, 0.80.0-2, will always trip an assert and quit if left running for a day or so.
If I can get gtk-gnutella to build and run reliably, I'd be happy to provide a PowerPC package you can include with your sourceforge downloads, and possibly set up a script to provide PowerPC snapshot builds too.
I haven't done much building of debian packages before, so quite possibly I'm doing something wrong. What I think I'm supposed to do is give the following command in the root directory of the source tree:
$ debian/rules
What I get after a bunch of output is the following:
make[4]: Entering directory `home/mike/Build/gtk-gnutella-0.93/po' /usr/bin/msgmerge --update es.po gtk-gnutella.pot /usr/bin/msgmerge: unrecognized option `--update' Try `/usr/bin/msgmerge --help' for more information.
msgmerge --help doesn't show that it has any --update option. msgmerge --version shows:
msgmerge (GNU gettext) 0.10.40
Before I tried to build, I made sure I had all the packages given by the Build-Depends entry of debian/control, as well as having the right version numbers for the packages that specify one.
Thanks for your help,
