Has anyone noticed that GTKG now seems to refuse all
requests for any file, if they ask for the entire file
in a single chunk? (NOTE: Most of my files are very
large, between 100MB and 200MB.)

I have noticed this recently, and believe that it is
an error to refuse to deliver the file in a single
large chunk. It appears that there are still many Gnet
clients that do this as their default, and they are
now unable to obtain any files from GTKG as a result.
The request is treated as an EOF error, when it's
reported on the display.

Futher, is there any way to force a client to use a
specific minimum chunk size? I find the Limewire
default chunksize of 97.7K to be incredibly wasteful
of bandwidth, as they seem to spend at least 50% of
their connection time in handshaking for the next
chunk, instead of actually downloading from my system.
Futher, the constant download-renegotiate-download
cycle causes the other connections to fluctuate in
speed as the Limewire connection is constantly added
and removed from the total "upload" speed. It must be
giving the code that tries to balance the connection
speeds fits, because of the constant adding and
dropping of the connection.

Solving these two issues will provide more stable
connection speeds for the users, and allow more of the
community to access files served by GTKG.

Other than that, the recent 0.93.1 release seems very
stable on Solaris X86 - Bravo to all the folks
involved in the recent updates and fixes!

Regards,
--Carl
