I have just submitted a patch on SF 873182. Which adds progress bars to the download pane of the treeview in the Gtk2 interface and helps shrink the size of the status line a little. If it is acceptable, I would be happy to do the same to the upload pane. With the patch report there is also an image, showing what it looks like with the addition.
