Thanks for the report, but Debian's version is way too old. You should
try to get the latest 0.93.3 release, which you can build from source
for Debian since we natively support Debian:
>From the root of gtk-gnutella's source tree, say:
fakeroot debian/rules binary
And it will build the .deb for you.
