This message is meant for the fellow developers having CVS access. During my recent code browsing, I've stumbled on violations of the coding style guidelines like: lines wider than 80 characters, usage of the "//" comment, unprotected include files, files missing copyright information, source files missing the RCSID, etc...
Although none of those violations, taken in isolation, are particularily worrisome, the accumulation of those violations is. In an open-source project, the code base is one of the main assets. By keeping it clean, uniform, properly commented, we increase its value and make it easier for new developers to quickly be able to find their way through the source code. I'm usually fixing those violations silently when I see them, but I would rather not have to do that and I am counting on your understanding to take pride into respecting the coding style, just as you take pride into writing and sharing useful code.
