No, It really behaves like I wrote.
I just re-checked that.

This applies to both double-clicking a row and single-clicking a row 
followed by a click on "download selected". In both cases, it only 
downloads the one file that is visible in the gui. When I then expand 
the branch and select all files manually, all the files start to 
download.

I read Richard's recent entry in the ChangeLog file, regarding 
autoselect in GTK1. Maybe it's only wrong in GTK2 and works correctly 
in GTK1?
