Holding the information even for removed rows is rather a feature than
a bug. Otherwise, the tooltip would probably blink and flash in the
Gnet pane during the startup phase. Anyway, I had changed this so that
the tooltip is reset as soon as the mouse cursor leaves the relevant
widget because that was really somewhat confusing.

I agree but one has to dig deep in the GTK+ documentation or sources
rather to make this possible.
