Previously I had gotten a UDP firewalled icon to appear. My node is not behind a firewall at all. After having updated with the latest source, GTKG seems to live longer. However, I have noticed that UDP stops working after operating for several hours.
This related to NAT forwarding that I have turned on on Linux 2.6.10. The connection tracking only has a limited number of entries and as an Ultra-node, GTKG opens so many connections that there are no connection left. This also seems to turn on a warning about stalled uploads. Is this sensible or is there some other problem at work. Turning off NAT seems to allow GTKG to run longer as an Ultra-node. Using ping and traceroute, nslookup, dig, etc will fail with "sendto: operation not permitted". This was my clue that it was more than GTKG. It seems that running GTKG on a box with ip forwarding would not be a good idea. Probably the same for a web server, etc. Perhaps this is user stupidity; but it might save some time to put an extra string in the stalled warning?
