Not quite. I am behind a NAT router, but I have manually forwarded my 
configured port for both TCP and UDP, which means that I am not firewalled 
in any way. GtkG also correctly indicates this fact with the yellow 
smiley symbol.

I don't know if my router supports UPnP. It likely does, but I intend to 
completely ignore this feature. I configure everything manually and 
statically where possible.

Looks good! It's now up since 4 hours without problems, which probably 
means that the problem is really fixed.
