I am creating a shell script to do the whole migration for me. The whole 
process takes quite a few hours, but that is ok. I just let it run and the next 
day it is done. Also I don't sync against sourceforge directly but with a local 
svn clone to speed up the process.
The current git tree I have looks good, and all that is left for now is a 
complete authors file.
