gtk-gnutella problems:
Although it seems to be a good and stable p2p filesharing program and said not
to cause many problems, there have been some issues with the program on my end.
I'm using a 2011 acer aspire 5733z laptop with windows xp pro sp2. the
gtk-gnutella website says that the program can be turned on and left for days.
but when I leave the program running I have the following issues:
- windows navigation slow and sometimes freezes
- internet explorer 8 navigation slow and sometimes freezes
- occasional blue screen of death crashes when I try to use my computer
normally while program is running.
when the program is turned off everything runs normally. I don't want to switch
back to shareaza because I like the simple classic look of gtk-gnutella. also I
got a letter from Comcast cable company telling me that I'm have been found as
the source of copyrighted file sharing. this was before I new about the
tls_enforce feature. I'm not sure if it will prevent them from seeing my
traffic but I don't know if I should take the risk since the internet account
is in my roommates name and she already told me to uninstall my p2p program. if
we get another letter it wouldn't be good. I really want to share files! here
is the letter I received from the cable company below. If anyone knows how I
can get around this please email me at bsant...@starcityhistory.com.
