The Pango library 0.12 that comes with gtk+ 1.3 fails to compile during 
configure--It wants glib-config.  Renaming the glib-config-2.0 script of 
glib 1.3 to glib-config (assuming its is in $PATH) solves the problem.

Also, Pango's COPYING file contains the LGPL 2, while the README 
says the license is LGPL 2.1 (the Library or Lesser GPL 2.1).
