AFAIK That's not supported.

I'd do that. Having multple rows in a notebook is considered bad practice by a lot of
people. Maybe the way the GNOME control-panel solved it is something to consider...
Take a look at the GNOME UI taskforce page. Can't find it right now :-(... They have
some nice ideas how to enhance the control panel even more....
