Help with clist widget

hi people

one small question: how do i connect a signal into an active title?

if i have a clist:
    GtkWidget *gtk_clist_new_with_titles(gint columns, gchar *titles[]);
and the first title is "title1", how do i refer to it so that i can
connect a signal?
