I am currently running RH 6.1, and I am installing glib 1.2.8 so that I
can
install gtk+ 1.2.8. After I have run "configure" and "make" for glib,
I then run
configure for gtk. I then get a message that it requires glib1.2.8 or
greater.
The current version of glib available on my system is 1.2.5.

Which directories should I untar glib 1.2.8 and gtk+ 1.2.8 from? Which
path should I enter into "etc/ld.so.conf", or how should I configure
other files? Any other tips?

Thanks
Jason
