okay... figured out that compile prob...

configure for X asks for:
        pangox
        pangoxft

and my compile provides:
        pangox
        pangoft2

hrm...  Just 'cause I have 'fribidi' and freetype2....  pangoxft isn't
produced.

I am guessing this is a (repairable) error in "configure".  Considering
I'm working entirely with CVS components :)

Anyhoo - I'm not an autoconf guru, so hopefully this will help someone.
