I have problems too with gdk_color_alloc_color & gdk_color_parse.
But this works fine:
GdkColor White;
White.red = White.green = White.blue = 0xFFFF;

I use a drawing area with 2 colors red and blue. But I don't know to get

red.red = 0xff * 0x100;
red.green = 0;
red.blue = 0;
Could someone explain how to get other colors (for example white) ?
