The tutorial and examples in CVS head should be pure GTK+ 2.0. The title
even
expresses this ("GTK+ 2.0 tutorial") - it is a bit unfortunate that the
online version
at www.gtk.org/tutorial tracks CVS head. Maybe Shawn Amundson (cc'ed)
can be convinced to set things up so that the GTK+ 1.2 version of the
tutorial
is available as well (there is already a parallel setup for the reference
manuals).
Until that happens, you can try
ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/tutorial/db-gtk-tutorial.20000721.tar.gz,
which is admittedly fairly old.
