Directing compilation errors to a file

Hi,

I compiling a gtk program at the moment, and i've got lots of errors, but cannot see all of them within the ms dos window. I am using a make file. Can someone tell me how i can direct the compilation errors to a file with a command with in my make file which i'm using or actually typing it in the dos window.
