Difference between 1.2 and 2.0 and 2.2

Hi.

I am interested in programming with GTK.

I have already read a few chapters of the 1.2 tutorial.

I have looked at the website and done a quick mailing list archive search, but I cannot seem to find an answer to the question: what are the specific differences between version 1.2, 2.0 and 2.2?

Please tell me where to find this info, that seems to me like it should be in the FAQ but I didn't see it.
