problem with pango

During the compilation of libgnomecanvas 2.4.0 I got the following error:   libpangoft2-1.0.so: undefined reference to FT_Stream_GetShort libpangoft2-1.0.so: undefined reference to FT_Stream_ExitFrame libpangoft2-1.0.so: undefined reference to FT_Stream_GetLong libpangoft2-1.0.so: undefined reference to FT_Stream_EnterFrame   How can I solve the problem?
