'./configure' for gtk+-2.4.10 fails (on a Linux machine), complaining configure: error: Pango 1.2.0 and Xft backend is required for x11 target
OK, I install Pango 1.2.0 instead of Pango 1.4.0. However, then configure fails again, this time noting that Pango's version must be >=1.4.0. Not that I know what "Xft backend" means. 'ldconfig -v' lists a libXft.so.1.0 - is this it?
