I found the package: http://www.novell.com/products/linuxpackages/suselinux/gtk-qt-engine.html it is installed by default, so unless you've removed it, you are probably using it. Worth checking anyway. I used to use gtk2.4 apps under suse on a very old 450MHz PII machine and performance was not obviously worse than Qt (for me).
