Sorry to open a new thread but I have to ISPs now and I'm juggling email addresses til I settle with one. Thanks Michael for your observation. Keep in mind I'm running on this computer an old RH 7.0. The autotools weren't around then to my knowledge so I have to put them there manually. Autoconf I just installed I didn't know it was needed so I'll try again with it.
