Hi, you could tell glib to use your own memory functions by providing a custom GMemVTable: http://library.gnome.org/devel/glib/stable/glib-Memory-Allocation.html#GMemVTable
I don't know if this is recommended but it should work. I would be interested myself to know if there is a way to change the behaviour of the glib built-in alloc functions...
