I think you've both hit the nail on the head there.  There's a tendency for 
gtk-windows users to feel very isolated.  I moved to GTK+ after a lengthy 
period of using Microsoft's MFC and I wouldn't dream of going back to MFC again 
(despite GTK's infuriating memory leaks!!).  But for a long time I genuinely 
felt as if I was the only person developing for Windows using GTK+.  It's great 
to know that others share my enthusiasm for GTK+ on Windows.!
