Thanks. I'm a bit wary of using Puppy/Quirky/Wary/etc. due to (again) the
complete lack of security features, and also to some extent because of the
offensive behavior of their community on some occasions. Might be worth seeing
if it works, though.
Re GTK2 and Cairo, I guess this would explain the drastic drop in performance I
saw between the 5.x and 6.x versions of RHEL and its derivatives?
