g_app_info_launch_default_for_uri doesn't work?

i'm trying to use the function as object, but if i ask http://<some  
address> it returns that there isn't an application registered for  
this type of file

if i ask file:///c:\install.ini it return that the uri isn't supported
what am i doing wrong?

my environment is: windows vista, mingw/msys, glib 2.32.1
